This weekend I did something that I almost never do...... go into a physical store! Although I am firmly of the belief that EVERYTHING in life can be bought successfully online, I suddenly found myself taking a stroll with my newborn and ending up in a traditional shop front. And for the first time in over a year I actually bought clothing in a bricks and mortar outlet - shock horror!
As a slight digression from my main topic.... One of the most important rules to buying clothes online is know your body and therefore always buy styles that suit your real body shape ( versus the one you imagine). Well 3 weeks post baby - I have a changing body shape so cant hurt to try things on at the moment.
Back to the story. Other than the item that I bought ( a fabulous leather dress) I also liked another piece of clothing that I decided to think about over night. As part of my deliberations on whether to buy or not to buy I decided to check out the item at their E Store ...... and this is where my rant begins..... the item from their new collection currently under investigation is not available at the E store ????
Why I ask, would you make your instore collection better than what is available on line? There are 5 things at really irritate me about this:
1. Inconvenience : I now have to pack up my newborn and actually go back to the store to buy the item ( when do I have time for this?)
2. I am limited to the sizes left in that particular store - what if they have now sold out?
3. I have to deal with an annoying sales assistant ( in this case talking about my flabby post baby body)
4. I have to deal with the general public also shopping in the store.
5. I have to physically carry my item all the way home hoping that baby spew or poop doesn't get on it ( OK this one I can probably manage - but I needed a 5th item)
My message to all stores - I want to see a BETTER range on line than in store. And if this had been the case then I am sure I would have already bought this item rather than ongoing deliberation that may or may not take me back to the bricks and mortar .
Museum Clothing - Love the Range, very happy with the price, hugely disappointed that I cant buy it online. For this and other reviews of online sites check out www.shopperconcierge.com
